Just wondering if anybody using the various mail forwarding services are able to get mail order prescriptions. Any info would be appreciated.

We use Travelers Remail in Arlington, TX. Our mail order and online prescriptions are sent to that address and then forwarded to us. We have been doing this for two years and have not had any problems. We order in time to make sure we get them when needed.

We get our prescriptions this way and there is no problem. As long as you do not have controlled substances or meds requiring refrigeration there is no problem with mail forwarding them.

I get my scripts some in mail at our USP office then have them forwarded and some at pharmacies where ever I maybe. It can be shipped to our park...I have to go by my insurance providers which can be Walmarts, Wallgreens and etc. My insulin I get for 3 months at a time as I am on a insulin pump, it gets picked up at pharmacies ,most of my scripts are for a 90 day period and can be refilled 4 times without dr visits. I do get back for annual dr visits each yr. southwestjudy

Not sure if this is true, but can you get get your RX filled at ANY WalMart ? Someone told us they are all connected, and if you had one filled in Maine...and then needed it filled again and you were in Arizona...no problem. All connected via their computer network... Anyone know if this is correct?

To my knowledge, you are most correct. Their pharmacies are interconnected very much like Walgreens and CVS. Once you are in the system with one all of the others should work.

There are some states, such as New York, that will not transfer your prescriptions even if it is transferred in from another Wal-Mart. That, by the way, is the only state that we have had problems using Wal-Mart. We called our doctor and he just faxed our prescription to the next Wal-Mart which happened to be in Tennessee.
We now get all our meds through Prime Mail Pharmacy (Blue Cross/Blue Shield) and they will forward them to what ever address we ask them to send them to. The first time was to our campground in Alabama and the second time was to our campground in New York. They have our Livingston, Texas address listed as our permanent address for record purposes and have no problem mailing our prescriptions to alternate addresses.

Thank you Darrell & Judy, Charles and Southwest Judy....and all of you for the info. That will make it easy once we're out there, and it is good to know that the mail forwarding works well also. Getting your RX on time is important.

Thanks all for the response. Darrell and Judy thanks to you as I also have BCBS and use Prime Mail Pharmacy because we get 3 month supply at a time and it is much cheaper that way.I am 6 1/2 months from retirement and can't wait to use all the valuable information gained on this site.

Thank you bjoyce. You brought up refrigeration and that is an issue with my eye drops. My best solution with that in mind would be to have the script forwarded to the nearest Costco Pharmacy.
