Living alone and eating smallish size portions, I buy organic meats, dairy & produce. I also cook just about everything from scratch, so I don't buy many processed foods at all (the exception being my Jif Peanut Butter & Wheat Thins!). I'm used to shopping at a local food co-op, plus Earth Fare (Carolina style Whole Foods, but better), plus local farm stands in the area. I usually buy the meat as the store cuts it, then bring it home and cut it into smaller portions and freeze. It's amazing how cheaply I can eat, but with smaller meat portions and more produce. Is this feasible with a full timing lifestyle, or do you just take what you can find? gypsy

You can find organic produce most places, organic dairy a lot of places, but organic meats are more rare. If you are in Amish country you can safely buy the Amish meats, they are not labeled organic but the Amish do it the old fashioned way, which is the same thing.

I'm finding more stores that carry organic products. but the meat may be lacking in some areas. The larger stores will carry it as soon as we demand it!
Whole Food, Trader Joes, etc have organic meats. But a lot of smaller towns have 'natural' type stores. you just need to search them out by driving around or asking. sometimes you can do a search online and find them

I use this site to help locate farmers markets, which coould help in locating local organic meat
Hope this helps!
