Linda and I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.
Please remember the true meaning of the Holiday. Many soldiers have died to keep us free.
Why not dig out that American Flag and fly it this weekend?

Well said Jim, our soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen & coast guard have brought this great country of ours to where it is today. I hate to think of the alternative if we didn't have them. I too wish everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day!!!

Some can say they are not religious. Many Vets served, fought and some died so we all have the freedom to live our lives freely in this great country. Whether you consider us a fortunate country or a blessed country is yours to decide.
However, everyone should take the time to thank anyone they know who has served in defense of our freedom.

I was lucky enough to have served in the US Army when nobody was shooting at us. It was the "cold war" era before Vietnam so I feel lucky for sure.
On Feb. 19, 2005, my cousin, Marine Cpl Kevin M. Clarke, was killed in combat in Al Anbar Province in Iraq. We remember him at this special time for all veterans who gave their lives so we and many others could be free.
We also honor my father-in-law, Cliff Moulds, who flew bombers and Spitfires for the RAF in England in WWII. Thank God, he survived crash landing his bomber in Scotland and is still with us today at age 88.
Don't forget the reason for Memorial Day!

It's with great pride and gratitude that we honor our son this Memorial Day. He is currently serving in the Army in Korea. He's due home next month and I can't wait to get my hands on him! I've always thought our military personnel were serving a high calling and now it is even more personal.
Grateful to live in this great country!

We live in the greatest country in the world and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. It is because of the men and women who have gone before us who have given the ultimate sacrifice. This weekend we will honor them as well as all who have served and fought for our freedom. Thank you all and may God bless America.

It is a somber weekend in our house. My husband is a disabled Viet Nam Vet. He is down and out and I know its all the thoughts in his head about those that lost their lives. He is a proud veteran and to everyone sharing thoughts, it really means alot to these vets.

Amen, to all of he above. My brother and myself served in peace time Korea during the sixty's. I have a brother-in-law who is a hero of mine, holder of a Purple Heart as he served in Nam and is still carring around metal from there.

Here still in our S&B house, the flag flys always. Likewise, there will be one when we travel. How sad that this country does not seem to have the Patriotic spirit is once had. We are fortunate indeed to live in the greatest nation in the World.

Leno, please, please, please convey our gratitude to your husband for his service. And to you as well for loving him and standing by him all these years. You both have much to be proud of and we are grateful.
