Hi All, My hubby & I spent a fun week camping in Moab with our toy poodle, Gaby. (We were able to visit H&L which was great!). We took our dog hiking & 4 wheeling. Within a week after we returned home from our trip, I found that Gaby had blister-like welts all over her head, chin, & neck. I'd never seen anything like that on her. They got worse so I took her to the vet. They determined that she had gotten into some type of plant (perhaps a type of cactus) that had tiny little needles that had embedded into her skin. While we were camping, we never felt anything on her or saw anything in her fur, nor did she act like she'd gotten stuck by anything. She on antibiotics & her welts are going away now. I just share this in case any other pet owners experience this and don't know what the problem is. I have lots of animal experience, but I'd never seen welts like this.
