Went to the RV show here in Dallas and did not see anything that had the WOW factor. So many brands were not there for whatever the reason. There were all kinds of MH with the casino decor  if you know what I mean. I guess I will keep my rig for now until something comes along that I can't live without. The Cedar Creeks were the most changed. With the wood blinds and color upgrades they did take the show in decorations. They did have some good vendors on the floor and some nice places to stay in Texas. Most were at a really decent weekly and monthly rates. The Escalade now has the HVAC under the floor. Does anyone have information pro or con on this instalation? Another thing that I notice a lot of was the electric dump gates. Seems to me if that went south you would be up the sewer without a paddle? What are you thoughts on that.

Why would anyone install AC ducting anywhere other than the roof???

Both Winnebago and Alfa Se Ya push it as better, but why don't the high end RVs use basement air?  It does provide a visual advantage with a cleaner roof line, but then everyone puts a satellite dish up on the roof anyway and that goes away.  People who want to use solar power like basement air because they have more room for solar panels, but less room for extra batteries since they have less basement space.  The basement air I have seen used is 27,000 BTUs with a switch to only run as a 13,500 BTUs on 30AMP.  I have two roof heat pumps that are rated 15,000 BTUs each and BTUs are what matters, not placement.

They said it was easier to service?? I think I will stick to my roof air unless someone comes up with a reason to change over. Joe and Sherri

The show in Denver earlier this year was'nt as good as it had been either, mostly entree level and mid size 5th wheels which is what we look at. A number of brands not present, I think the economic slow down could be having an impact.

I had an opportunity to tour a new Cedar Creek here in our current location -Riverside RV Park near Pt Charlotte, FL. Very nice layout with side bath. What caught my eye was the La-Z-Boy recliners in the unit. The owner said they came with it. Not sure if that was a dealer or manufacturer decision but they are identical to the pair I have on order. Did you see La-Z-Boy recliners at the Dallas show? The wood blinds looked good but were very dark and I would not want to clean them. Don't believe I would care to have my A/C unit under the floor. Doubletree attempted to relocate the bedroom air unit directly in front of the living room air early in 2007. (They use ductwork to channel the air to multiple outlets in the trailer.) That only lasted for a few units. Now they are back where they used to be. I believe there is a reason for them to be on the roof and positioned where they are. That is where they work the best. It is always fun to look at the new units but I spent 5 years doing that before we bought one so I didn't bother to go to the Tampa show when the opportunity came up -I just can't face another RV show just yet :) Rodeworthy

Rodeworthy, I too was wondering about the blinds and if they would take a lot of care??? Oh well I just liked the look....More like a stix and bricks decor...a little homey looking. Seems like so many of the RV we have gone in have a Camper appearance...? I like the warm feeling in some....you know with the fireplace going and the lighting not so bright. Your going to live in one might as well have a comfort level. I guess I'll keep mine it is paid for and that makes it real comfy.
