I still live in my stix "n" brix, and I really enjoy feeding wild birds. I have several feeders, and I purchase various kinds of seed from a nearby rural grainery. I buy seed in bulk, often 40 or 50 lb bags that I store in my garage in plastic garbage cans. It is good quality and inexpensive since I buy large quantities. Once I go on the road, I want to continue my birdfeeding hobby. But I know that I won't be hauling around 50lb bags of seed in my rig. It seems that buying good quality seed in small quantities can get to be fairly expensive. So I'm curious where you buy seed, is it pricey, and do you store it in small plastic storage containers? Thanks!!

We also love to feed wild birds and have a number of feeders that we set up at just about every campground.
We look for local feed stores when we need to replenish, but try to buy 5-10# each of the various mixes we use. If there's no feed store we hit Wally. We keep a wide variety, as you never know what you're going to attract at a new campground.. Some is kept in bags in the truck and the rest is stored in large plastic containers we leave in the basement.
When we hit a good location, you sure can go through seed quickly.
Good luck,
Fred

The resort we are at now does not allow feeding the birds. We can feed the hummers but no seed feeders. Bummer.
They say it attracts mice and the mice attracts snakes. I know they are right but it's still a bummer. We love to watch the birds at the feeders.

We just bought some at Wally World. The birds seem to like it. We just sprinkle it on the ground - don't carry birdfeeders.
