I was wondering if some of you here spend winters in Mexico or at least some of the winter there and if so can you tell us here in the Forum something about it or your experiences. Campgrounds and such....I think this would be the ideal climate for winter time. I would also think reservations have to be way ahead. Thanks for any input. southwestjudy & Bob & 2blackdogs

My parents wintered in El Golfo Mexico thru CRA it is on the Sea of Cortez across from the Baja peninsula. My bosses son went to LaPaz area parasailing for several months for a number of winters. There are a lot of Canadians, Alaskans and other US citizens who do go to the area. We visited mom and dad a couple of years ago in Mexico and loved the area. I can't answer a lot of questions but can do the best I can to get the answers. El Golfo is about 90 miles south of Yuma AZ. Anna

We haven't spent more than a couple of Winter weeks in Mexico at a time on the Sea of Cortez which is really nice and warm. Facilities vary a lot and resorts are in the eye of the beholder. I seems that travel along the coast is much different than in the interior both in travel issues and weather. There are some very good forum topics on the Escapees forum about traveling and wintering in Mexico. There are also some good links to blogs in that forum on the topic.

blijil is right. The Escapees forum has many posts of the subject. If you can, contact a lady named Lee over there. She lives down in Mexico and is great lady and a wealth of information.
