I need some feedback on rear kitchen floorplans.  Pros and cons.  I've read that there is quite a bit of jostling going on back there, much like the back of a bus or airplane.  I know things come loose, get broken, etc, but do things get broken more often back there or not?  What about the appliances...too much movement for them?  Thank you.

We too are interested in rear kitchen floorplans. 

One in particular we like on paper is an Excel Model 33RKE.  It has a rear kitchen door as well as the standard door midships.  This is a feature that we think would be handy to have.  However, we have not been able to actually see this model in person.

Would like to know if anyone has this model or one similar with the rear kitchen and 2 doors.  If so what are the pros and cons?

Wall space is at a premium in a trailer and there's nothing you can put in front of an entry, so the loss of usable wall would definitely be a negative in my opinion. Fred

Our Arctic Fox 27-5L is a rear kitchen floorplan, and we're very happy. Never had a cabinet come open or anything break back there. We even leave the toaster out on the counter (it's a squat 4-slicer) and it's never even moved.

I liked the center kitchen myself, but DW liked all the extra storage in the rear kitchen, and I have to say she was right. We're full-timing in a 27 foot 5er and still haven't used up all the space we have available. If you're looking at smaller rigs, pay close attention to how much storage space is available in the different floorplans.

Rear kitchen here also. Better use of space than mid kitchen in my opinion but you usually lose the rear window view. We previously had a 5er with mid kitchen and really for fulltiming in my opinion the kitchen was mainly a hallway between the bedroom and living room. We figured why not cut that part of the trailer out and we still have just as much room to live in as before. Previous unit was 40' this one is 32' and much easier to move around.

We like to dry camp and just want you to know that no place in a fifth wheel is immune to a long wash board road to the campground.  If you stick to the pavement you do get an occasional bump  that can disrupt things likewise with emergency braking on the interstate.  Get the floor plan you like and reinforce any bump sensitive latches with a variety of RV tools and ingenuity.
