Spend the Winter in a Great place outside of Tucson!

My former landlady is asking for our help in finding her "nice people" to rent her RV space this winter or anytime. We spent 6 mos there and LOVED it. Sadly, we are no longer full-timers so we won't be going back. She has an RV space with full hookups, 50 amp electric (with it's own meter), water, & sewer on a 9 acre horse property. There's room for 20 horses, but she's "retired" so there's only 2 horses there that are privately owned. The space is technically located in Catalina which is at 3100' and 20 miles north of downtown Tucson. It's very very quiet and off a dirt road. You have a beautiful view of the Catalina mountains and wonderful weather. The landlady Dee & her husband, Dennis are great people. They also have a little white poodle named Cotton who welcomes "like minded" dogs.
I believe Dee is asking $400 a month plus electric. You have your own meter, so you get your own bill, which averaged $40-85/month.

This sounds like something we would be interested in. I (Fay) have a horse and have been looking for a place in Az. that we can camp and I can ride. Husband doesn't ride. Can we board the horse there also ? Is the area such that one can ride farther that the 9 acres? Is there someone to ride with? Thanks Fay

You could probably board a horse there, but you'd have to discuss it with Dee. I boarded my (leased) horse there, but I had a self-care stall, so I paid Dee a minimal amount, then purchased my own hay & grain. I did my own feeding and stall mucking. There's access to a huge trail system nearby. You have to travel about 3 blocks down some non-busy streets, go down on a trail to a busy street, cross it, go through the gate, and you're homefree! The busy street isn't that busy, but the speed limit is 45 mph. The 2 people that board there come out on Sundays to ride, and usually don't mind company. I met most of the people I rode with just by walking my horse around the neighborhood.
Your horse will be happy there!
