We will not fulltime for another 17 months. So, during winter months we do not use our Fifith wheel. Are there advantages/disadvantages to keeping it under one of those covers? We can not see spending money at this time to build a permanent shelter for only the winters of 2007-2008 and part of 2008-2009.
Comments? thanks.

When you start fulltiming will you have it under a cover then? If it sets out when you live in it what would be the rason to cover it now? Keep it waxed and clean it often. If you take care of your trailer it will last a long time under cover or not.

I store my RV in a storage lot when I'm not using it. In the lot there are a few RV's that use covers. Some of them (covers) have weathered poorly, faded, come partly loose. A couple of them have actually ripped and beat the finish on the RV causing damage.
If you plan on using one, it should be checked periodically to ensure it is in place. Nothing can tick you off more than a loose or ripped cover damaging the finish on your RV that it was supposed to protect in the first place.
I've never used one on any of my MH's. As said before, keeping it clean and waxed is all I do and the exteriors all look great.
