I finally have a lone hummingbird at my window mount feeder!!! This is the first hummer I have seen live at my feeder in a great while. I am sooooo excited!! Now my questions - looking at the feeder mounted on the window I am noticing small ants crawling on it. Not many but I know where there is one there is a million. How can I keep the ants off my hummingbird feeder that is mounted on the window of our motorhome? Help - I don't want to loose the little fellow and maybe his friends.

We hope there is a solution to your problem as we have the same one here in Mn. I had the feeder mounted on the window by the dinette so we could watch them while we were sitting there. Once the ants found the feeder I had to move it and we are sure missing Mr. & Mrs Hummer. Tom

More than likely the little fellers are coming up your electric cord, water hose, sewer hose or even from the wheels. Any part of your rig that touches the ground is a hwy. for the ants! I keep all these areas sprayed and also put out ant bait. I have stopped the pest from getting on the 5ver. I am sure this will stop the ant problem on your feeder.

I had an ant problem on my window feeder at one campground way back in August of our first year. I watch and followed where the ants were coming from. It was suggested to me to buy "Bug Stop" (found in walmart's garden section) and to spray everything that touches the ground.
So I bought a bottle and proceeded to spray everything as well as the line of ants I could see. (I removed the Hummingbird Feeder while doing this)
It worked!!!!! I still use Bug Stop to this day! I bought a big "Pump Sprayer" bottle and keep the Bug Stop in that and now the spraying is so much easier. It is a part of my set up routine now. Before I put the slides out, I spray the tires and then I move on to the jacks and other things that touch the ground. I spray the ground around the water supply and electric.
If I see ant hills close to the patio or picnic table, I spray those hills also.
I wouldn't be without Bug Stop!!!! I just wish I could give the Walmart Salesguy a kiss for the suggestion!!!!
