Hears another "stupid" question from a rookie! I'm looking at a used Newmar that has a Motostat "automatic" dish on the roof. Can I use that dish to get Data Storm or a similiar service for TV and Internet service? I believe the current owner uses Dish for TV and has no internet service. Thanks for any help Sorry if this is an obvious/stupid question. Soooo much to learn!

Paul, I have no idea. I do know this, there are no stupid questions. Stupid is not asking questions. I'll wait here with you to get an answer from those that know.

HI Paul, chances are it is a tv dish only. If it is a round dish it is tv and if it is a oblong dish it may very well be for internet but my guess is it isn't. If you have a datastorm installed it can be used for tv with the addition of an arm to hold the LNB. The tv dish could then be removed and sold. Hope this helped. Below is a picture of the Datastorm that is listed on Dustyfoots website. www.dustyfoot.com

As Tmcblane says, it is probably a TV dish. Motostat makes both TV and internet dishes as the Motosat Products web page shows. An internet dish is much larger than a TV dish with the TV dish being about 18" in diameter and their smallest internet dish, an F1 Datastorm, is 3 feet wide and 2 feet high. Their automatic TV dish is very popular and you should be to use it for satellite TV once you get a reciever.
