As if there aren't already enough things to think about, here is an article about another consideration (and question to ask the manufacturer) about whether or not formaldehyde has been used in any of the construction materials...
When looking at a few fifthwheels the fumes were overwhelming. The only one (so far) that I have stepped into that seemed fume free was the Newmar Torrey Pine ,could be one of the reasons WE like it best.

Formaldahyde (and other chemicals) in building materials can really bother some people more than others. Some people are allergic to many chemicals that are used in the binding of materials.
Another use of formaldahyde in chemicals used in black and grey holding tanks are dumped in the septic tanks and kill all the organizms that break down the waste. That's why many dump stations have been closed.

Sure would like to know which manufacturers use formaldehyde so we can avoid them!
By the way, there are many holding tank chemicals available that don't have any formaldehyde. Just check in Camping World.

The Heartland (Landmark, Bighorn) lines of fifth wheels offer a formaldahide-free construction. This was just another reason that we chose them.
