Fulltiming is the lifestyle where you're supposed to slow down and enjoy life. I know there will be many answers to this question, but I'm trying to get a feel for budgeting for fuel expenses.
Currently, we travel an average of 12,000 miles a year and we are not fulltimers, we both still are gainfully employed. We're training for fulltiming!
Also, do you find you travel more the first year and then slowly start to wind down a little, or do you increase your travel as the years go by?

In our first year we towed about 12,000 miles and drove just over 27,000, stayed in 67 campgrounds and visited 26 states. I guess you could say we were in vacation mode.
We're still moving, but have slowed down considerably, we've been in California for over 3 months already and will probably only do 4-6 more states this year. Overall our non towing driving is continueing at pace, since we've started birding and explore the region we're in more thoroughly than we used to.
Overall, we've definitely slowed down as we've settled into this amazing lifestyle.

We have no qualms about coast to coast travel so we expect to average about 12K miles a year, although we are spending more time in one spot now; Calfornia and Oregon since 2-8 of this year. Our kids are in Florida and I have been told that we will spend December and January in Florida again this year.
Our touring miles depend on the area. In the LA region it was about 400 per week but on the Oregon coast it's more like 250 per week. That is what we did in one car before we left our Florida base.

We try to stick to 12,000 miles a year. That includes both towing and touring in just the truck.

We started fulltiming in August 2004 and have put 27793 miles on our fifth wheel and over 74,400 on our truck.

Our first year on the road we started in Ohio and went on a circle of the south and up to Alaska and back....a lot of miles! Since then we've averaged around 10,000 miles on the coach and another 10,000 miles on the tow car....slowing down a bit more each year. Would you believe that yesterday we paid 20 cents a gallon LESS for fuel at the same Flying J in Missouri than we did a year ago???
