My name is Marsha and I've just signed up for this site. My husband (Howard) and I will be full-timing, starting in about 30 to 60 days. Howard is 57 and had a heart attack on Thanksgiving and it made us realize that life is just too short. We have always loved camping and have rv-ed in Mexico for up to 2 months at a time when we were younger. We realized we miss the adventure and spontaneity that we had then. So we decided to put our ranch up for sale and just got an offer that we accepted TODAY (with a 30-day escrow)! (GULP!)
So, we are going to be busy for the next month. We will be buying some type of Pusher Diesel. (We didn't want to get too excited til the ranch sold! haha) I am enjoying reading the articles about how to go from a house to a motorhome. We are very fortunate in that the guy that is buying our ranch wants to keep everything. So that makes it a little easier for us.
My question is this . . . do any of you have lists of tools, and otheR "necessary" items for full-time living? I look at my kitchen and don't know where to begin. Then I look at Howard's garage and SHUDDER!!! He has EVERY type of tool and piece of equipment imaginable!
Any help or suggestions you can provide will be GREATLY appreciated, and I look forward to keeping in touch with you in the future!

Congrads, when it came to moving my kitchen into our rv, I took my "necessary things first" such as pots, pans etc...then sold all things I didnt use very often and could live with out. As far as a list that I could not live without were some of my kitchen gagets, I dont think any of us could go without toaster, coffee pot, handmixer, silverware, dishes, storage containers, potholders, kitchen towels and that list could go on and on. On one of these forums someone gave a list of places to go to print out all the "lists" you're talking about, including setting up a campsite and breaking down camp...ie: rolling up the awning!!! We're not into RVing yet, but I did see the answer somewhere. Maybe someone else out there remembers where it was????

Hi Marsha, Just have to say, you struck a chord with me in your post. Yes, life is indeed short and we need to stop to smell the roses along the way. I lost my first husband in 1994 from cancer. Later married Art, who had 5 way bypass surgery in 1998, then a MAJOR !!!! heart attack last August. After a lot of re-evalutation of our situation, we have made the decision to continue with our dream of fulltime RVing. God bless you and Howard in your decision to hit the road. I don't know much about the garage, but the kitchen I did deal with. Take everything out of the cabinets, put on the living room floor. Then evaluate each item one at a time before putting back into the kitchen - Nothing goes back that won't be in the MH !!!!!
