Hi, For those of you who responded to your age when you started fulltiming who were under or around early fifties... do you continue to work on the road? did you keep your stick house as a back up? I guess how are you making it work?

Getting rid of the stick house let us have enough money coming in from investments to maintain the full-time lifestyle. The house cost a lot of money to keep. I have great trouble why people think keeping the house is a good economic decision.

Hello, we are in our mid 30's and started full-timing at the end of last year (still newbie's). We have been married for 15+ years and have no children. We sold our stick house, purchased our motorhome and paid off all of our debts. Although we aren't retired, we don't work full time. I work for an Internet company and able to work remotely. My wife is an RN and takes nursing assignments as we travel. It's great because we can work as much as we want/need.
Sure, we could make more "money" before but Money isn't everything! We love our new life!

Great to hear we're not crazy. We plan on "working" doing fleamarkets and antique shows as we travel. I agree with Bill about hte house they are money pits to me. Our kids want to stay in the house they will be 23 and 18 if all goes well and we leave on schedule. Our deal is they pay the bills they can stay. Won't leave us with money to live off of but no bills either. It makes me feel better to know others are doing it and it works. Money definitely isn't everything got to enjoy life!!!! What about insurance?

IN MY OPINION, THE ONLY DOWNSIDE TO FULLTIME RV'ING AT A YOUNGER AGE IS HEALTH INSURANCE. SOLVE THAT PROBLEM AND YOU'RE GOOD TO GO!!! IN OUR SITUATION WE DEAL BLACKJACK IN CASINOS TO PAY THE BILLS. LAUGHLIN, NEVADA IN THE WINTER AND LAKE TAHOE IN THE SUMMER. SITTING AND WORKING SEVERAL MONTHS SURE CUTS DOWN ON THE EXPENSES, AND BOOM WE'RE BACK ON THE ROAD FOR A FEW MONTHS.
NO HOME BASE FOR US, JUST A SOUTH DAKOTA MAIL DROP.
