Larry and I retired in 2002 and returned back home to build our dream home – a log home in the spectacular Finger Lakes Region of Western New York State. We had been living and working in the Catskills for 12 years, but wanted to be close to family and friends once again.A couple of years ago, we inherited a small home in a perfect little village nearby, and plan to sell our log home and most of the land, and downsize to that village.
We’ve always loved to travel …. and at one point had a 35 ft. 5th wheel, but while we were working we just didn’t use it often enough.Since retiring we’ve stayed in rental homes and hotels, traveling for 3-4 weeks at a time mostly to the Southwest.Finding the “perfect” place to stay has become a hassle, and because we like to change our plans often while we are on the road, it seems a motorhome is now going to be our choice of travel.Maybe even for several months at a time! Plus we got a cute little traveling companion now -- Brody the Bichon. We've got the wanderlust!
We’ve been researching and driving motorhomes, attending shows, and have found the perfect RV (we think!).Our log home is on the market, and as soon as it sells we’ll buy the RV (or find another if it’s gone) – and off we’ll go to see the good old USA!
We’re reading all the advice, ideas, and suggestions from everyone! This is a great forum, and it keeps us “Dreaming” about the lifestyle we’re about to encounter!
