Ha, Ron, I know what you mean about baby steps. Dropping subscriptions, switching to digital, gradually emptying the freezer, etc. But the pool/gym membership, they are going to have to pry that from my hands on the last day....I'm gonna miss it so much I may make my journeys a quest for Great Pools and Hot Springs of the Western World!

I'm on a personal quest to play every golf course I can find that is near an "interesting" place that my wife wants to visit/see. I played a sweet course in Virginia Beach, Va. Followed that with a VERY nice course (Links at Stoney Point) at Lake Greenwood in SC. On my way to Gulfport, MS and my son has made a tee time for us Saturday morning, I know not where ... but who cares, I'm playing golf with my son!! Who gives a rip where (but I know he'll pick a good one for us). Can't wait to sell our stuff and do this ALL DAY LONG!!!

Update from the Bikers. After helping our two sons to moved from their house and getting out our personnal effects from our house the countdown is rolling friday the 8th we are getting out ofour home. We found a campground for the summer not far from my wife's company she's only retiring in september.
The last month was exhausting physically and mentally, always something to care about but finally we are 3 nights away from living in our coach. It will be something for us friday, after living in 4 houses over a period of 30 years.
On june 16th we cancelled all the services such as (tv, internet, etc), therefore I need to go in a restaurant or a café to go on the net. When I listen the news on the radio I feel I'm disconnected fro the world. I can live without TV but I've a hard time not having internet.
We are ready for the new adventure hoping the hardest part is behind us. It is a lot of preparation, by chance wehave done our homework many years ago. RV Dreams has been a very good reference tool for us, the community of FT helped us over the years and we hope to do the same for others in the futur.

If you change your mind, you can add a T-Mobile phone or tablet to your mix and use their Binge On service to stream at 480p without it counting on your T-Mobile plan. Get a phone or tablet that can "cast" to your TV, as long as either your TV or Blu-ray/DVD player (which is what we have) supports it. There will be places T-Mobile does not work, so this would not replace your primary phone, which should be on Verizon or AT&T for maximum coverage.

Jean & Jocelyne, hope everything is going smoothly for the start of your adventure, we all wish you well, though we know you're not online much right now.
I just took my new unit on its maiden voyage or 'shakedown cruise', and I was not prepared for being without the internet almost all of the time, or the otherwise lovely campground owners who baldface lie about how they offer wi-fi.
In many ways it's a good thing, to disconnect, but makes it difficult to plan routes, work around the weather, etc. Very eye-opening. I'm sure I'll have to get wi-fi when I go full-time.
Returning to reality after a nice trip up north, I'm now in an epic heatwave and the idea of painting garage and shop and working on the RV when the heat index is over 100 crossed over from 'inadvisable in summer' into the 'crazy' category. I've still got plenty to do indoors, but still, it's not looking good for listing the house in early fall. The delays have certainly been numerous and frustrating, and I may have to join the Class of 2017.
Looking forward to reports from J&J and everybody who has hit the road this summer....

I pressure washed the front porch and sidewalk today. Breezeway and 1,700 sq ft deck to go ... so much to do to sell this house ... realtor ran comps and thinks $420K for the house and $70K for the next door lot. Hope to be on the market by Labor Day!

Well as of July 16th we are joining the crowd. We auctioned all our possession's yesterday and within a hour after auction ended here came a heavy thunderstorm. 6:30 am auctioneer showed up and about 9 am the auction began. I'm not ashamed to admit that when the auctioneer began that's when I lost it. Reality hit me and the tears began to flow. Happy tears account I knew we were going to began our new life, but the memories and thoughts of the things I had accumulated along with inherited items brought the feeling out. The wife seen and came to my rescue. I don't know what I'd do without her. If not for here I wouldn't be who I am. She is such a blessing in my life.
See yall down the road.

Already two weeks of FT and I don't like it I LOVE IT, I was made for this way of living. We have worked hard to get there and I don't regret any of all the efforts we've made to acheive our goal. Common people still don't understand our choice but I still don't care.
I had one big piece to sale and it was my pick-up truck, wednesday I place an add on two websites at 06:30 am, within half an hour I had already received two phone calls. At 10:45 everything was done, truck empty, check in the bank account and was lookink the new owner leaving with the vehicule. I've never sold a car that fast and on top of that no negotiation he gave me the full price asked.
Now I will be able to concentrate on my rig, my bikes and wait until september to receive my custom made close trailer, at that point we will be in business to travel to meet other FT and see North America eventhough we've travel in the past there is still a lot to see.
I still hope that all of you still in the process of becoming FT will acheive the Dream.

Jean,
A free account at Photobucket would be a start. You can upload photos to Photobucket and then can post pictures into forums. However, I do highly recommend resizing any large photo files before uploading so that the uploading time is limited. I generally resize photos to where they are under 700kb each, most under 500kb.
Once you have the picture uploaded to Photobucket, then you could follow the instructions at this link:

Just 2 more days at the sticks and bricks! We'll be official full time RVers as of Labour Day.
Our whole transition only took 8 weeks so it's been an intense whirlwind of cleaning out, garage sale, selling on Kijiji, delivering stuff to children, buying the RV and toad, organizing what fits, storing a bit, then cleaning, fixing, and storing our boat. In between we had a couple of family reunions too. This weekend we'll clean the house, tidy the gardens (that I've ignored all summer), and cut the grass. Finally we'll be done with S&B maintenance! Whew!!!
Anyone else getting close to their 'due date'?

We're getting close ... our goal was Labor Day ... then Sept 19th ... now the 21st (to list the house). Painters have been the problem. Can't get them in time to meet our "wish for" dates. I will tell you that we still have a lot to do. I'm torn between hanging on to stuff for the estate sale and just burning the damn thing down ... HA! Seriously, we've gotten thru most of the emotional stuff like pictures, family heirlooms, etc. Now it's just "do I sell this or donate it or throw it away". I will be really glad when this is over and I can get back to doing fun stuff, which there hasn't been much of that over the last month, unless packing boxes is fun for anybody. Our fifth wheel is pretty close to packed and ready to go, except for the last minute stuff, so if I could wave a magic wand and make the house gone ... we could leave tomorrow. Just keep pounding the rock.
We just took yesterday off ... needed to recharge the batteries.

Well folks we are almost there and I'm looking forward to move because here in the province of Quebec the weather is getting colder every day. We had a lot of rain and when you add the humidity you have only one thing in mind is to cross the border. We are leaving our rv park saturday morning and stop one night to visit my sister and law, her husband had a bad motorcycle accident 10 days ago. We are planning to cross the border on oct 31st, our first stop will be Nashville for three nights, after that we wil folow our route toward Texas.
For those working on their dream I wish you good luck and keep the faith it will happen if you really beleive in that dream.
