So today was a first step toward full-timing! I went for a cut without color for the first time in years! I have never had much issue with changing my hair (it's just hair it will grow back) but for some reason this was a bit more stressful to me than just any of the other things we will be giving up, (other than not seeing the grand babes every week). BUT saving that $400 per year in the RV fund will be nice!
Of course, this was only the first cut and I have yet to see how badly it will look fully grown out...my DH keeps teasing that he can't believe I'm doing it! I've been thinking about it for awhile now though, and my stylist uses her own chemical formula which I don't know if I'd trust from anyone else. I've gone quite short now and the "grey" is really quite white that is showing...I'm hoping it will end up being a pretty color. We shall see! Oh the vanity!!

I'm a newbie, just starting to research full-time and am expecting to go for it in about 18 months. I'm exploring ways to make money on the road since my boyfriend and I are in our early 30's and really looking for a life of flexibility and excitement.
I've been a hairstylist for 10+ years and am considering opening up shop or offering services at the RV Parks to help out the ladies and gents in getting high qualify hair services while traveling. I'll have to apply for licensing "reciprocity" (aka endorsement) at each state I visit, and look up the laws pertaining to "house calls". However, I wanted to post on this thread in hopes that I can get some much needed community input...
Would you be excited about having a hairstylist come to your RV or campsite to cut your hair or apply your hair color, or maybe even give you a facial & Mani / Pedi? Would it be in your budget? What would your budget look like?
If you're familiar with these types of services, or laws, or rules related to this at the parks, or just relevant information.... I'm very open to hearing the feedback.
Thank you!

I feel left out. I don't color what's left of my hair.

I would love to have my hair done by a reliable professional in my CG! As far as budget - I USED to pay $130 every 5 weeks or so for cut/all over color (highlights extra). I haven't done that in 2 1/2 years, partly b/c I can't afford it, partly b/c going to someone new all the time is stressful. It would be nice to have it done occasionally on the road. Bill helps me out with the at home dyeing and he does a great job - but good cuts are few and far between.

Thanks for the valuable input. I'm thinking of offering dry cut & style services for $35-$65. I'd imagine I'll put together a list of potential services and survey the market. :)

Hello, all! So I am in the process of beginning to research and plan full-time RV living. BF and I are in our early 30's. I am very girly so highlights, nails, and makeup are important to me as well as something I do not want to give up. I know the thread died down a couple years ago so I wanted to check in for updated information. Are there usually hairstylists around campgrounds? I like to get my highlights professionally done as I do not dye all of my hair. I am naturally blonde, but not as blonde as I would like so hence the highlights. Also, as far as nails is their anyone who keeps that up while RVing? Thanks in advance!

My wife has colored her own hair using a hair shampoo dye and trimmed both of our hairs ever since the pandemic started.

My wife colors my hair using an organic shampoo dye. I forgot the brand.
