Hi Terry and Jo, I joined this group a few years ago, then my oldest son was in a bad car accident and had o come home. He has recovered and moved on. I live in Colorado, Denver . Just purchased an older model RV and should be on my way early fall. How was it wintering in Colorado? I have so much to learn. Can you suggest any medium cost parks? Im excited and nervous all at the same time to be doing this alone with my pets. Can I ask what the name of the RV park is where you are staying? ..... Gail

Gail,
Wintering over in Colorado was just fine with us, however, our fifth wheel is a Mobile Suites by DRV Suites, so it is better insulated and built for full-timers. So far, we've experienced temperatures between -6 degrees and 115 degrees and been comfortable. We lived in the fiver in Oklahoma City for 3 years before retiring and moving to Colorado.
As for campgrounds, I can't help you a lot there as we've only stayed at the one place (where we are now) since last year when we moved. We are at Mountaindale Cabins and RV Resort, which is located between Colorado Springs and Canon City, just off of Highway 115. The park is NOT a mid-priced one, but its location more than makes up for the the cost. We are right at the base of a mountain of the Front Range, so winds are not really a big factor for us. Mountaindale is becoming very popular for long term residents. The year before we moved to Colorado, they had 5 RV's winter over. Last year (our first year), there were close to 20 to 25 RV's wintering over, and there are some more on a waiting list for long term.
As for suggestions of parks, where are you wanting to stay? Do you want to stay in the Denver area, or do you plan to move. I know of a couple that are living in their Mobile Suites in the Denver area, but I don't remember where it was. Seems to me like it was on the east side somewhere. She has been on the forums here in the past, and I think she still checks in on occasion. I'll see if I can get in touch with her about parks in the Denver area, IF that is where you want to stay.

Not full time yet but just spent a lovely week in Randolph Center, Vermont at Lake Champagne Campground. Our next door neighbors were a very nice Arizona based couple. We love it there. So quiet and everything is so green. A short walk to Floyd's General Store where behind the old deli counter they declare, "This isn't Burger King, you can't have it your way. You'll have it my way or you won't get a damn thing". Rockers placed around the now inactive pot bellied stove for the local chatter and you can drop off or pick up your dry cleaning (the rack stands in the middle of the store). Down the road to Neighborly Farms to watch them make cheese and a little further down the road to grab eggs just out of the nest. We've been coming back to this place for 24 years now and never get tired of it. It eases the soul.

We're in Claremont NC, still waiting to close on the sale of our house. Had one little hiccup when the buyer's backed out but have a new contract with another buyer...whew! Hope to be going back up to New Hampshire for a family visit at the end of September and then off to Florida for the winter. Can't wait to get back on the road. Safe travels to all!
