David, does saying that get you banned from them? Does my questioning you about your opinion about them, their worth as a resource or friendly community mean I just got myself banned even before I might have thought about joining?

Brian, I really don't know or care whether or not they ban me. Unless they email me to tell me that I'm banned, I won't know because I don't intend to check in with them again. I'm not mad at them, but simply have other sources of good information to check. I'm quite sure that there are quite a few RV forums that I haven't found, and it may well be that one of them would really help me, but I simply don't have the time to go looking at every RV forum that is out there. I actually stay logged into one forum pretty much all the time (Foreforums) because that's the brand I own. I generally check in here at least once a day, and also RVillage. Once we are actually on the road I'm sure that RVillage will become a bit more important to us.
I do check in to Escapees every few days now. When we were in the researching stage I was on here, Escapees, IRV2, and at least three brand-specific forums every evening. At that time, though, we were trying to learn as much as we could so we could make a reasonably intelligent decision about what coach we should get for our full-time adventure. We now have the coach (we're in it right now), and Saturday is our auction. If all goes well, we'll be completely in the coach sometime in May.

The few times I have surfed there for info, I have invariably read through threads where flaming seemed to be rampart during a portion of the subject matter. My reaction was come on people, grow up. I left their forum to find what I was researching elsewhere.
Things are so much nicer here and the info is excellent.

What sad & empty lives they must lead to devote so much time to stalking users on OTHER forums to punish them on their own. I feel kinda sorry for them...
This is one of the nicest forums out there - everyone pretty much gets along and is helpful - what it should be. I'm an admin on a much smaller site where folks all get along - sometimes someone will post something that is outside the focus of the group - I struggle every time I hit the delete button and always send a nicely worded note that their post would be more appropriate elsewhere - that's it. Fortunately I have never received a nasty gram back. Moderating should be done with a light hand and a polite manner (like here) unless & until a user continually repeats infractions & stirs the pot.
I am on another site where you will get "demerit points" for questioning a mods actions - its just silly

Hi all.
I'm new here. I got banned from the IRV2 site as well. All I did was respond when someone posted something and the guy I had issue with in the past (Clifftall) jumped on him. I posted "at least it was not me this time" and he sent me a warning so I told him I assumed he was a (edited phrase) and he banned me for life. Why would that bother you if it was true? I contacted the owner and he told me there was nothing he could do. I really like the Entegra section of the forum. I even had a guy I like send a PM and ask Clifftall if he would let me back on and he told the guy he could be banned for even asking about a banned former member. I am on seven forums and have been on the F150online site since like 2000 and I have never even been warned for anything. If I could find another site with lots of Entegra owners I would never go back there. Until then I will keep getting on with different IP addresses. It is their site and they have the right to ban anyone they wish but I have told them I was sorry and I would be a good boy from now on but it makes no difference. I never thought about contacting their advertisers. If you sent a link to this and the many other links that pop up if you Google "IRV2 banned" maybe something would change.

Yep, I got a warning along with them changing my typing for writing something off color (I think I said the word that rhymes with trap). So when looking around, I noticed a lot of moderating... a lot! So, I posted a question about it? Guess what, that was entirely deleted and I got banned a few weeks. Can't even ask about it. But what if all of these banned members have some useful information?? Everyone can always learn something out there.
After I got a PM about my banning I never went back. Much friendlier here and a few other RV forums. I've never been given a warning in 15 years playing on the net. It's their place, that is cool, I just choose not to go there. So they can ban me permanently, all good with me. :) I like this playground mucho betta!!

I did not intend to offend anyone here. I went to Google, searched "Banned forever IRV2" and found this site. I really like most of the people there and the info for the Entegra coaches. I really want back in but the moderator will not even return my e-mails. I admitted I broke the rules and said I was sorry. I came here and posted just to see what had happened to others that had been banned. I don't care to "BASH" anyone or any site. I just don't understand why they are the way they are.
The reason I like the site so much is because of the great help. I once was leaving for a 1000 mile four day trip and the camera on the sides of the coach would not come on when using the turn signal like it should. I posted it on the board and in five minutes a guy that had already been down this road told me to unplug a module under the dash for two minutes and viola I was good to go. I have had several things like this happen so I get good use out of the board. I just don't understand why they will not accept my apology. If there was another forum with as many Entegra owners I would not care what they did. If there is one I don't know about it.

I certainly think that bashing another forum and being able to vent or state our opinions should not interfere with why we like these open forums. The essence of these forums is for shared opinions and information that we all benefit from.
I will quote Woody Allen........."I don't want to belong to any club that would have me as a Member"
I enjoy this forum because I like the objective opinions even if I don't always agree or relate to them! The information and experience from members of all walks of life is invaluable and appreciated.
It is IRV's loss to alienate the contributing people on this or any other forum. We should strongly consider starting owners forums like The Entegras Owners group on this forum. I am certain that all or most of the Entegra Owners read multiple forums for the same reasons that we all do. I know that personally because I am taking delivery of an Entegra Anthem in 2 weeks.
Thanks for the open and honest opinion and info!

Tell yourself how happy you are to be able to, with one click, eliminate these people from your life. Seriously, imagine what it was like for those people that had to work with these people or who are relatives because they can't one click them away. Might consider starting Yahoo groups with specific groups for owners of certain types of RVs, etc.
A moderator's job is not easy and it is not easy to recruit them either. Two thumbs up for Terry and Genecop.

Well you are getting a great coach. We did not spend the extra fifty grand for the Anthem and settled for the Aspire. After owning six used motorhomes over the last thirty years this was our first new one. I wish I had the 150 gallon fuel tank but other than that we are really happy with the Aspire. Customer service is second to none with Entegra. Joyce will move the world for you if you are in trouble.

Jerry,
Thanks so much for the experience! A lot of thought and my own experience with manufactures took place in my decision. It seems that Entegra is adopting a longer term business plan than some others. This involves taking care of people, which in the past has been long overdue. I am looking forward to being a cheerleader to any company that understands that they are dealing with peoples dreams and fantasies of being on the road in a cool community with others!

Like it or not, every forum has its set of "rules," and the moderators are to enforce those rules. Here at RV Dreams, for the most part, everyone is very civil and follows the rules. However, at times it is still necessary for either Gene (Genecop) or myself to advise others to follow those rules.
If one doesn't want to be banned, get some of their posts deleted or edited, then one needs to abide by the rules. Here at this forum, it pays to have common courtesy and not bring up either politics or religion as a discussion. There is a little leeway with regards to religion in that we do allow members to say they are praying for someone's health or well being or to say "God bless" as a means of professing good tidings for those others.
Politics....that's another matter. In reality, I am a VERY POLITICAL person, but as a moderator, I even temper myself to abide by the rules. And yes, I've "edited" comments before, and just did again to remove any "political" reference from a discussion.
All in all, I have to commend almost everyone here at RV Dreams for being such nice folks and keeping this a very civil place. However, like Lucky Mike stated, I think it is best to not be negative to other forums on these forums. That takes away from the "civil conversation" we have so much of here.

Hey, was irritated beyond belief at that other massive RV forum and found this forum just from a simple Google search. Sometimes people just need an outlet elsewhere but this looks like a decent place so glad I found it.
On a side note, that other place really can be terrible if a certain group of people set their sights on you. The irony was in the latest problem, I was sticking up for a guy as others were and got a warning that the forum was not the place to do so. I of course emailed C-Tall back asking if PM would be more appropriate. he of course completely ignored me.
It's too bad because there are a lot of helpful and knowledgeable members there but it would be a cold day in hell before I go back.
