RVILLAGE
(Preview)
Is anything happening on the RVILLAGE site. Last post was quite sometime ago, and it seems there isn't any traffic on the site. Just wondering since we're new to the RV-Dreamers community.

Favorite apps for monitoring fires, evacuations, etc??
(Preview)
Hi All, We've been using the Weather Underground map and watching the local news as a fire continues to burn NE of us in the Sierra Nevadas. Tonight we were watching the huge cloud caused by the fire turn colors during the sunset hours. Beautiful in an unreal kind of way, but still somewhat scary to see...

Where do you go in the dog days?

I know everyone is thinking about warmer places now, but I'm doing some long range planning! When July through September get here again, I want to be in a cooler place. My wife has COPD, so higher altitudes is not the answer. Where would we find the coolest places in the good ol' USA for those months? -- E...

Products That Make Life Easier On The Road?
(Preview)
With the discussion of dogs, as an issue, I got thinking about the different solutions plus what products I use that make life easier on the road and/or at home. Once I learned about using a crate, I would never be without one. Our dogs count on the crate as their bed and go there even with the door off. A...

Considering flying for the annual family visit - are we nuts?

As someone who has to put everything into a spreadsheet I just finished looking at the cost / time of flying vs. driving to visit our family next spring. We're starting to lean towards flying, it's only slightly more expensive but will take a lot less time and leave us better rested, I think or at leas th...

Saturday night we finally reached Trailer Trash status. I had to laugh. In our 5th wheel, I was barefoot, in shorts and a sleeveless T-shirt (aka: wife beater shirt) stirring in the cheese to cooked pasta shells from a Kraft Mac & Cheese box. That's all we decided to have for dinner. It sounded g...

Update on Progress

When I introduced myself 10 months ago I intended to be full-timing by next month. Boy was that wishful thinking! I had no idea how much work it is to get ready. And how hard it is to get it all done solo. I bought a new (to me) RV in April and it is going to be just the right amount of space. It had two couche...

Well, it is official for real now - we are full-time RV'ers! We closed on our house this past Friday (Aug 29) and the check is in the bank!
