Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I'm trying to make my summer 2017 volunteering plans in Oregon. Im not sure of road/weather conditions if we head for Arizona in October. Is that too late to head south? We will probably take 1-2 weeks to drive it.
Oregon doesn't get a lot of snow…so if you're heading south through CA and then east October is probably just fine…but if you're heading east through Idaho and then down via CO/NV then I would check detailed historic weather before going that way…we had snow in Idaho Falls the winter we were there by mid to late September IIRC.
I would definitely recommend the CA and then east route that late in the year.
October is a great month to travel. We spend the month of September in the Sonoma and Central Coast wine regions and then head for Mesa the first of October - - a quick 3 day dash across the desert. You have lots of different ways to go, enjoy the trip

We have traveled from NW WA. To NV & TX & LA. I like hwy 93 out of Twin Falls Id. It is high country but unless a bad snow storm it is great & the shortest to L.V. One pass out of Ely NV but never had a problem with it. Last year we left home about the first of Jan & ran into some snow in Jackpot NV but it was any problem. We have a 43' motorhome with a flat bed trailer with a car on it so we are 65' long. Hope this helps. B.
