Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Closer to the dream!

Well we finally bit the bullet and the winner was the 2014 Grand Design Solitude 369RL!! Also a 96 Ford F350 DD. It's hard to believe that we joined this wonderful group in February 2015 and here we are getting ready to hit the road to Indy to pickup our new home!! I'll tell you it wasn't always fun to get to this point. We finally sold the S&B and closing was last week. DH is having a hip replacement in 2 wks. This will delay our traveling for a couple months or so but we're looking to take off before years end. We're super excited but also a bit frightened to take off. It's a big step but we know we'll enjoy every minute. We're working with the pups trying to get them to stop barking at every leaf and squirrel they see. Not having much luck. We joined a couple Facebook groups that have been a source of humor. Specially the group with pets. Lots of stories about the neighbors dogs, birds, ferrets, cats, fish, and asorted critters. Very entertaining!  Anyways, here I sit writing this at 1:30am. There's a lot going on right now, insomnia runs rapid. We're in our rental home with a good bit of baggage. The kids took all they wanted and the garage sale got rid of more stuff but we are still far from liquidation. Looks like the goodwill truck will be called out. So life is hectic but also exciting. I'll post our adventure of getting the RV when we return from Indy. Please keep us in your prayers and as always stay safe, stay healthy and happy trails to all! Yippee we're going to get Sophie Solitude! Happy happy happy!

Congrats!! I do remember the insomnia the last few months of the transition and was so thankful it went away pretty quickly once we were on the road.

Welcome Gary and Linda. We also started in a Grand Design 369RL but have since changed to a Momentum. Check out the Grand Design owners forum and their facebook page.

Hi Gary and Linda....congrats on the Solitude and moving forward!    We also purchased a Solitude 305 last fall to prepare for leaving next spring.   Hopefully it goes as planned.   Sounds like you're getting the final preparations into order and prayers that the hip surgery goes well with a fast recovery.   Let us know how you're doing and best wishes!

ps....we have a Maggie golden retriever and our Solitude is Gracie!   Have fun and take care of Sophie!   :)

I thought it just me!  Since we started getting the house prepped to sell and decide on a new 5th wheel I'm awake half the night.  Thanks, I'm glad I', not alone.

Congratulations! You must post up some pics of your Solitude when you settle in. Inquiring minds want to know!

You have our prayers for your DHs hip replacement, for it to go smoothly, with minimal pain and discomfort.
