Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Anyone bought this flex steel theatre seating?

I really like the looks of this Flexsteel 1262 Theatre loveseat. Anyone have any experience with this unit?

I've been quite fond of the Flexsteel furniture I have. I just have not seen this set firsthand. Hence my inquiry.

John,

First of all, welcome to the RV Dreams forums.  You will find a lot of folks here that have the experience and knowledge to answer a lot of your questions.

I'd stick with your original question and ask for folks with actual experience with the Flex Steel products.  Since you've already experienced Flex Steel products before, I'd suggest you also see if you could find a dealer and actually try one out.  Also, be sure and take measurements if the seating is going to be in the rear of the RV, provided yours is a fifth wheel.  If it's too deep, it could interfere with incoming slides.

Since it is similar to a wall-hugger and needs 4" behind the top of the backrest, you may find that it needs to be pushed back for travel and then pulled back forward for actual use.  That's what we do with our La-Z-Boy Reclinaway love seat recliners.  Ours is in the door side slide, facing our entertainment center.

Terry

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately There are no Flexsteel rv products dealers in our state (AR). We have looked at Lazyboy as well. In communicating with Flexsteel was of little help. They could only provide one stocking dealer.... in Southern California. A tad out of our way.

Bradd and Hall - http://www.braddandhall.com/productcart/pc/home.asp is the place to check out what is available that is RV specific.  They are in Elkhart, IN and ship everywhere.   Under Theater Seating. http://www.braddandhall.com/productcart/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=97. they show the Flexsteel and two offerings from Lambright.  We love our Lambright wall hugger recliner, so are biased.

I removed the "quality" recliners that come with the 2015 DRV. And replaced them with a stressless.

Looking to replace my theater seating to a pair of stressless next. being fake leather, I sweat in them.. and while they seem well build.. I think they are build for small people. My legs stick out past the foot rest.. and my head is above the "head rest".. and I am only 6ft. Very uncomfortable to me.

I will never buy ANY brand rv specific furniture again..

My theater seating is brown.. 6 mo old.. and is for sale real soon.. I think it's made by lane or ashley.. can't remember..
Started looking at stressless's again.. thanks..lol

Thanks, I did send them an email. Waiting to see what they have in stock.

No joy, B&H didn't have it. Thanks for the replies. We will keep looking. Not going to buy something without seeing it in person.
We are thinking about running up to Elkhart sometime this summer and checking out their showroom.

regards,

John

John, that product is used in many brands of RVs, and we've sat in many examples of it. It seems well built and is comfortable. The only question would be: do you want to have the two recliners that close together. The positive is that the arrangement should fit into a smaller space than two recliners with a table between them. I hope you are able to test drive this product. We may very well opt for it in our new fulltime RV.

When we were at the Fall Rally in Indiana we were referred to Lambright Comfort chairs.  Several people at the rally at purchased furniture from them, including Howard and Linda.  We went to their showroom and ended up getting two recliners to replace a sofa.  This is great handmade amish furniture and is worth looking into.  We will definetely be looking into them next time we need something else.

Another vote for lambright. We purchased 2 recliners from them last year, picking up this coming weekend. Nice quality furniture.
