Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Good Sam or Escapade

I'm debating whether to attend the Tuscon Escapade or the Phoenix Good Sam Rally.  I am a member of both.  My general feeling is that Good Sam will have better entertainment, a lot more people and rigs, and be more oriented towards selling me stuff.  I believe Escapade would be more laid back and friendly.  I don't know which one would provide more educational benefit.  If anyone has been to both, please comment.  Thanks.

Just before the Tucson Escapade, Escapees will hold a Boot Camp - http://www.escapees.com/bootcamp/.  Boot camps are very educational.

Learning can be fun and entertaining. Observing those who haven't learned can be really entertaining.

 biggrin.. I bet..

I think they give the training when I pick up my RV.. from 1-3 pm..

All kidding aside.. if there was one right now, kinda close.. I'd be there.. Since it's months before one.. and I get my RV soon.. I guess it's learn as I go.. I'm sure there will be someone at the campground to show me how to unhook it from the truck.. And hook up the water and electric.. Then I'll know..

Let's avoid getting off topic here.  AZbillsfan asked for answers about the two different rallies.

I have not been to both, but I was at the GS Rally in Phoenix in 2012 and had a great time.  Lots to of shopping and looking and great entertainment.  They had Martina McBride and Bill Cosby in 2012.  We have signed up for new year already.

They have a website to get current info I think it is theRally.com

I would consider the RV Dreams rally, but I still work full time, I'm in AZ, and the rally is in Goshen.  Way too far.

We've not done a Good Sam Rally before.. but did attend the last Escapade in Goshen, and the FMCA in Perry earlier this year.

Of those two, I can say without a doubt that Escapade is more our style. Friendly folks and more community oriented. And man, do those folks know how to happy hour! :)

And lots of educational programs, from the bootcamp that happens before hand to the seminars during. Because many folks in Escapees are full timers (or at least most-timers), the information seemed a little more geared that way. Whereas many of the FMCA seminars tended to be more like product demonstrations with a few truly educational classes tossed in.

Again, don't know much about the Good Sam variety of rally. But we are aiming to hit Escapade in Tuscon next year.

Looks like these are 2 weeks apart, only a few miles from each other in AZ.

i think I may like to do AZ in march / 2015.. Make reservations now..

RV-dreams one is too far for me also.. Maybe the next one.
