Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Hi Chris,

If your sunroof is factory-installed, the following steps may help.

To “reset” the sunroof control module, first make sure the key is out of the ignition and the driver’s door is Open. Then remove Fuse S/ROOF (25amp) from the underhood electrical center (located on the driver’s side - there is a label on the underside of the cover indicating the fuse location) and leave it out for at least one minute. Reinstall the Fuse. Then try operating the sunroof.

If this doesn’t work, I know you didn’t replace your sunroof, but the procedure below taken from GM Service Information may reset your sunroof operation.

Sunroof Motor/Actuator Synchronization
The sunroof control module uses position sensor inputs to establish soft stop locations for the sunroof panel several millimeters ahead of its physical limits. After replacing sunroof system components which may affect the position of the glass panel to the seal in the closed position, the soft stop locations must be reset. Perform the following steps after the repairs are completed.

1. Close the sunroof to the current soft stop location.
2. Press and hold the sunroof switch in the close position.
3. After 2 seconds the sunroof panel will bump to the hard stop.
4. Continue holding the sunroof switch in the close position for 3 full seconds after the sunroof panel has hit the hard stop.
5. Press and hold the sunroof switch in the open position until the sunroof panel stops in the full open position.

Hopefully one or both of these procedures will solve your problem!

Jim, thanks for the response. Did some googling on it and found that there are settings or presetting. I got it to close fully.
