Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

We have GMAC. Good rates with really good coverage for RV, especially if you're fulltiming. They also have a decent discount if you have an activated OnStar account, which we have on our toad.

Compare prices with progressive. They have great deals on tow vehicle and trailer combinations.

There are insurance agencies that specialize in RVs and they know their stuff better than most of us. We use Farm and City (RV Advantage) and have been very happy in six years of being their customer. We started with a Progressive policy, then Progressive changed what they covered for full-timers, then moved to National Interstate and last year they recommended moving to Allied so we did. I know Howard and Linda use Miller's Insurance and many use AON.

Like bjoyce, I use Farm&City but have stayed with Progressive. No one else came close for my quote, unfortunately not even Miller. I don't have any claims, so I can't speak for that side of the equation, but the front side w/ Farm&City has been excellent.

I used Miller insurance and they were so much cheaper then all the insurance companies i contacted. I save   with them. Funny how each one of us come up with different quotes. It might have to do where we live, age etc.

Good luck.

We use Gieco and have been very pleased with the rates and the customer service. They insure our two vehicles and our fifth wheel for replacement value. Which is important to us.

I have Nationwide on my RV (and cars). It is very reasonable. But costs don't mean every thing. I had an accident with my previous MH (broadsided by a car driving at night where the driver forgot to put her headlights on). My MH incured over $20K in damage. Nationwide went to bat for me and my MH was repaired like new woth no cost to me or rise in rates.

They fought the other driver's insurance company for me and got the repairs covered. Initially it looked like I caused the accident, but their investigators proved otherwise. They could tell that the headlights were not on by examining the filiments of the smashed headlights.

Plus I've had two windshields replaced in the previous MH, with just the $100 deductable, no problem. The windshield cost over $1000 each time.

Best Regards!

This is just something to think about also,  if full-timing as we do you want liability for the rv, for instance if someone falls down your rv steps, you should have insurance just like you would carry on your stick and brick home.

I just received a quote from Good Sams club (GMAC) for a new Toyota Tundra and an Arctic Fox 27T using my present coverages as a guide, GMAC quote $1832.00 EVERY SIX MONTHS. Three times what I pay now. Think I'll stay where I am. I do have replacement cost on the TT with my present coverage. Just thought I'd throw this out there. My present insurer is Shelter.

We were with Progressive out of South Dakota. It was quite expensive, so we checked with Miller. They were able to put us with GMAC for a lot less. Thanks Howard!

Be sure you have a fulltimers policy that covers your contents as well.

Junkman,

Did you happen to look at the date on the post that you quoted? It's 6 years old. I would imagine a lot has changed since then.

Speaking from personal experience, I can tell you that low premiums are bait.  I know of one very well known company that charges the lowest premiums for business insurance in the market but they are notorious for denying claims.

Caveat emptor,
