Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Actually, the owners of the forums and website prefer that we NOT revive posts that are over a year old.  Largely, that is because some information in earlier comments may be out of date and/or some products are no longer available.  Thus, when reading an old thread, keep that in mind.

With respect to the later comments, our Mobile Suites is now 8 years old.  We live in it in cold as well as hot temperatures.  Even after 8 years, we are still using the electric fireplace and a couple of free standing, Lasko electric heaters to supplement our heating, leaving the propane use in the furnaces to primarily at night.  Plus, we've been comfortable in our Mobile Suites in temps down as low as -6 degrees.  Keep in mind though, that the Mobile Suites (and Elite Suites) have thicker walls and more insulation, thus helping keep us comfortable.

As for the fireplace being gas, I think I would be a bit leery of that one due to the nature of gas lines and them flexing somewhat as an RV is traveling down the road.  I would probably want to keep the distance and number of connections in gas lines to be as short and few as possible.  And, I'm a guy that has worked with LPG extensively in the past as a user and as one who has transported LPG and delivered LPG to customers.

All in all, take all I say with a grain of salt as it has been a long time since those days.  Today's LPG lines, fittings, and other elements may have evolved far beyond my knowledge.

We have a 2018 Landmark 365 with two fireplaces, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. Both are remote controlled, both have thermostats that can be set and we love them. When other Landmark owners found the plugs getting warm when use for a long time I replaced both of the electrical plugs, and from now on, no worries.

Yup, a old topic but I see I never commented so I will now. We love ours, if it's chilly in the morning I hit the remote I keep by the bed and let it run a bit before getting up. We find we run it more than we ever do our fueled heat.

I buy a Scan worked in shut ignition wood-consuming chimney for Cozy Heating. Exceptionally very happy and satisfied with both Cozy Heating and the chimney.

Closing this thread since it is over 11 years old, thus some information within could be out of date or some products no longer available.
